Introduction

One of our customers in China contacted us with a project: they needed a vibration testing system to check how the railway’s operating environment influences the equipment. For this purpose, RULA China offered to perform a series of vibration tests on the rolling stock using a multi-axis shaker system and an RL-C25 controller to simulate the normal vibration environment.

Introduction

Solution

The customer used a three-axis shaker system and an RL-C25 controller. One RL-C25 unit has 4 output channels and 16 input channels. This configuration allowed the user to conveniently control a three-axis shaker system from one master device.

Solution

Solution

A three-axis shaker system provides the most realistic simulation of the vibration conditions: the vibration is applied simultaneously from 3 directions. RL-C25 controller can control vibration shakers with up to 6 degrees of freedom, providing unparallel accuracy of vibration testing.

Result

The controller identification algorithm is based on the computation of the transfer-function matrix. This approach allowed the user to control both vibration and rotation, generating an extensive report about the condition of the equipment and its possible fatigue.

Conclusion
Using a multishaker test in RULA software for vibration testing, and with the help of an easy test set-up interface, our customer in China quickly performed a series of vibration tests and was able to judge whether the equipment has withstood the tests.
