Introduction

Haier Group Corporation is a Chinese multinational company that designs, develops, manufactures and sells home appliances and consumer electronics: from refrigerators and microwave ovens to mobile phones and computers.

Haier Group transports the products and parts over long distances. This is the reason why the company needs to test the goods for Sine and Random vibrations to ensure they will not be damaged during shipment.

The company has been struggling to find a system with a stable control line that would manage the tests at very low frequencies (0.1 - 1 Hz).

Introduction

Requirements

Haier’s office in China contacted RULA's Chinese branch and listed their requirements for the controller:

  • stable control line, wide dynamic range;
  • high frequency resolution;
  • easy to setup and operate for tests at low frequencies (0.1 - 1 Hz).

Requirements

Solutions

Haier Group mainly uses Sine and Random test to ensure that the product survives the shipping conditions.

RULA controllers have a wide dynamic range, powerful anti-noise filters, and a built-in synchronous detector function in Sine test — the combination of features that ensures the stability of tests at low frequencies.

High frequency resolution — from 0.1 up to 52,500 Hz — allows the company to easily setup Random test in the desired frequency range.

Solutions

RULA Software

The engineers of Haier Group were able to create the required Sine and Random profiles at fixed frequencies, save them in a ready-to-use format and perform the tests in the laboratory to evaluate the product durability during shipment.

Results

With the help of RULA controllers and VisProbe SL software, Haier engineers have finally managed to perform Sine and Random tests at low-frequencies and get steady results.
