RL-C21 is a state-of-the-art vibration control system for electro-dynamic shakers. The system is distinguished by simplicity, reliability and high safety standard. The controller has a modular scalable architecture, which allows the user to get from 1 to 32 input channels.

The configuration of RL-C21 system is flexible: it is determined by the user and can be modified at any time. The most innovative techniques of digital signal processing are embedded in the system. All calculations and safety checks are run by a DSP directly in the controller. This feature provides the highest level of shaker protection. The system enables running multishaker tests and successfully controls two- and three-axes shakers, as well as vibration shakers with up to 6 degrees of freedom. The presence of a galvanic isolation in the input chains allows effectively protecting input chains from breaks.

RL-C21 is used with a specialized vibration test software package TestUp и SignalUp.

TestUp does not see the device. There is a message saying that the device has not been found.

Check the connection of Ethernet cable to the device and PC. Check if the device is loading. The words “RL-C21” should appear on the screen, and if you hold the “Stop” button for more than 3 seconds, it will display the information about the IP-address, serial number and the subnet mask. If the device IP-address is 0.0.0.0, and there is a [D] symbol next to the IP-address, hold the "Stop" button for about 1 minute to reboot the controller and reset factory settings.

Another thing to check in case TestUp does not see the device is whether Windows Firewall is enabled and whether there is an antivirus installed. They should be disabled.

Can I save channel and shaker configurations?

The settings are saved to separate databases, and, having specified them once, you are able to use them for all subsequent tests.

Can antivirus software interfere with the testing procedure?

We do not recommend using antivirus programmes on your PC when working with RL-C21. As the PC communicates with the devices through the network, the antivirus software may sometimes block the data transfer. In case the antivirus software is installed and cannot be deleted, we recommend adding TestUp and the folder, to which it is installed, to the list of antivirus exceptions, or disable the protection while using the controller.

There is high noise level on the shaker, caused by the product, which is operating on it outside the testing zone. How do I not take it into consideration during control?

If it is a Sine test, you should set the control algorithm to “Synchronous detector” for the control channel. In case of Random test, select the “In the task spectrum” parameter in the drop-down menu “RMS is calculated in…” of the “Control” tab.
