There are two main methods of creating a Random test from a recording:

  1. the FDS feature of RULA Software;
  2. the Import Spectrum feature that allows you to calculate an average spectrum of a recorded signal and fill in the results as a PSD table of a test. This is the method we shall walk you through. 

Step 1

Create a new Random test by pressing the Create Test button:

Press the Spectrum Import button:

Select the Spectrum Import window and the desired file:

Step 4

Specify the necessary calculation settings:

  • the channel to be calculated;
  • number of spectrum lines and FFT window type;
  • number of overlaps;
  • import mode – linear average or peak holding.

Step 5

After confirming the settings, press the Calculate Spectrum button. The results of the calculation will be shown on the graph:

If the spectrum satisfies all necessary requirements, press the Spectrum Import button to fill in the parameters of the test profile:
