Battery-powered portable vibration and shock recorder. The device has an embedded 3-axial accelerometer and a high-accuracy temperature sensor. The acquired data is stored in the non-volatile internal memory with a real-time stamp for subsequent analysis.
- How do I best mount RL-R17 on the object? RL-R17 can be mounted to an object surface with four M5 DIN912 bolts through holes in the corners of the device.
- What is included in RL-R17 delivery kit? VisShock software CD, user manual, USB-cable, mounting bolt set, LiSOCl batteries (5 pcs).
- Which mode is better for logistic damage monitoring? The best mode for this purpose is shock-event recording mode. In this mode, the device saves only the relevant information to the embedded memory. All accelerations below the defined trigger-level will be ignored. RL-R17 blinks with the red indicator when the shock is above the trigger level for visual control.
- Which mode is better for research and development purposes? The best mode for this purpose is continuous recording, when all data are stored into the memory.
- What is the battery life? The device provides up to 720 hours recording with the default battery kit. The battery life depends on the selected battery, ambient temperature, operating mode and sample rate.
- Which battery type is supported? RL-R17 can work with all types of primary and secondary batteries in sizes “AA”, “14500”, “14505”. Different voltages are also supported.
- What capabilities does VisShock software have? VisShock provides configuring the device, software updates, file management and data analysis.
- What is data analysis? The recorded data can be plotted on different types of graphs: amplitude vs. time, RMS vs. time, temperature vs. time, etc. Each graph has a zoom function, measuring tools and printing capability. For shock-event records, shock counter and max & min amplitude determination are available.
